Valentine’s Day at MStay

Valentine’s is a time to spend with that special someone. The City of London has much to offer to lovestruck couples in search of a romantic getaway. In order to make the most of your holiday and your time with each other, MStay is offering a special Valentine’s Day discount for hotel rooms, as well as some complimentary chocolate for you and your sweetheart, if you book in the month of February.

It might still be chilly in London come February, but there’s a lot to see and do to keep the fires of romance burning. London itself is an exciting place, full of culture and top class eating establishments, shops for gifts and picturesque venues. Here are some of the main events that London will be hosting this Valentine’s Day.

Valentines pop-up post box

Not Another Bill are a company that send surprise gifts in the post. But for Valentine’s Day they’re changing things up and using a mobile postbox to help people send letters to their loved ones. They’ll provide the cards, designed by London-based artists such as Bee Davies and Crispin Finn, for free. They’ll be around town with their magical post box, so watch out for them while you make your way through the streets of London.

Valentine’s Weekend Keats House

“Sweet, sweet is the greeting of eyes, and sweet is the voice in the greeting,” Wrote the romantic (In the aesthetic sense) poet John Keats. For those with a literary flair, the former house of John Keats, now museum, is hosting a Valentine’s weekend where you can learn about Keat’s love life, listen to recitations of his poetry and make valentine’s cards. There will also be a pop-up bar offering love potions. Tickets need to be booked in advance and admission comes with a free glass of bubbly. You can stay at MStay’s Haverstock Hotel, just 5 minutes away.

Two Hearts

Not a big fan of sentimentality? If you prefer gore to mush, then you can go to an exhibition at Barts Pathology Museum ‘Two Hearts: Disection and Desire’. Watch Drs Paula Vickerton and Sally Holloway rip into a pig’s heart while exploring the theme of love in art and the heart as a representation of emotions. It’ll be a truly eye-opening evening. Just goes to show there really is something for everyone.

Feline Lonely?

Valentine’s Day isn’t for everyone. For some, it’s Singles Awareness Day. But London also offers something for those who find themselves single on the day. Visit Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to attend Feline Lonely at the cattery. You’ll get a free glass of bubbly and a chance to meet the purr-fect companion. Even if you don’t find the right cat-ch, you’ll still get to spend time with the many cats that Battersea helps out every year.

So why don’t you book now ?
