Baker Street in March
There’s always something afoot in Baker Street. The site of the Sherlock Holmes book series, it’s a significant cultural landmark for London, and has fostered culture and creativity for generations. Here are some of the most exciting events happening in Baker Street this March.
A&D Gallery, 51 Chiltern Street, Marylebone, London, W1U 6LY
1st – 29th March
Monday – Friday: 10:30 – 19:00
Saturday 10:30 – 18:00
‘Irrational Optimism’ is an exhibition about world art and the role of markets in art. The philosophy of the A&D gallery is that if you love it, you should buy it. For the gallery there is no ‘standard’ art set price, and they do not think of their works of art as purely part of their investment portfolio, or in terms of mere economic value. The art market is becoming more global and the hunt for rarer art pieces from all over the world is increasing. Admission is free and the exhibition is open to all.
Jaggedart, Devonshire Street, Off Marylebone High Street, London, W1G 6PS
8th March – 25th March
Weekdays 11:00 – 18:00
Weekends 11:00 – 14:00
This art exhibition at the Jaggedart gallery is a celebration of thread, yarn, wire and under-appreciated lines of material that hold our lives together. Multiple artists use fabrics and other materials to make naturalistic sculptures evoking roots, nests and fungi.
